What Do Plasterers Do?
Plaster is often used on walls and ceilings
because it is fire-resistant and relatively
soundproof. Plasterers apply plaster to
surfaces, which are then decorated with paint or
wallpaper. Plasterers can apply stucco to walls
on the outside of buildings. They can also
create designs on walls or ceilings with
plaster.
Working Conditions
Plasterers work both inside and outdoors,
however most of the work is done inside.
Plasterers work on the ground, but also on
ladders and scaffolds. A plasterer’s work can be
physically strenuous, including lifting,
standing, and reaching overhead. Plasterers must
also be aware of safety precautions because the
materials they are working with are often
irritating to the eyes and skin.
